Recognition and adequate funding of public schools

CONSIDERING THAT the education of our children is an investment in the future of Quebec, since all its citizens benefit from it;
 
CONSIDERING THAT equal access to high-quality public education is a basic human right that must be available to all students attending public elementary schools and high schools throughout the province of Quebec;
 
CONSIDERING THAT the pursuit of equitable access to quality public education in Quebec must continue, by adapting services to the real needs of all children;

CONSIDERING THAT the budget cuts that the Government of Quebec is imposing on school boards will impede the quality of education for all public school students and limit the potential of Quebec’s youth;
 
We, the undersigned, citizens of Québec, ask that the National Assembly recognize public education as an essential service and invest the necessary public funds to ensure that all Quebec students have access to an inclusive, high-quality, public education.
