Riding Office Accessibility Policy
Following a motion to recognize the importance for all Québec citizens to be able to access Members’ riding offices, carried by the Assemblée nationale on February 13, 2019, the Office of the National Assembly adopted the "Politique sur l’accessibilité des bureaux de circonscription aux personnes handicapées" (policy on access for disabled persons to riding offices). This policy, which came into force at the start of the 43rd Legislature, sets out, among other things, the accessibility criteria Members must consider when choosing their riding office as well as the resources available to them for leasehold improvements that support accessibility.

Identifying the level of accessibility of riding offices
The policy requires that the level of accessibility of each riding office be posted to inform people with motor disabilities of any barriers on the premises before they visit.
Levels of accessibility
There are three possible levels of accessibility. Each level covers criteria found in section 4.1 of the policy. The levels of accessibility and related criteria were determined in collaboration with the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec.
Three possible levels of accessibility:
Accessible |
The office is free of physical barriers and meets all the criteria. |
Partially accessible |
The office meets the minimum criteria but there are some physical barriers. |
No pictogram |
The office does not meet the minimum criteria and there are a significant number of physical barriers. |
