Description

The Standing Orders and Other Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly contains both the Standing Orders of the National Assembly and the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings.

The Standing Orders are the rules the Assembly has adopted to govern its proceedings and those of the parliamentary committees.

The Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings complement the Standing Orders. They contain provisions on the parliamentary committees, private bills and the examination of the Government’s financial commitments by the Committee on Public Administration.

Parliamentary tradition requires that the Standing Orders and the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings stem from a consensus among the MNAs and that amendments be passed unanimously.
