Description

The purpose of the Journal des débats is to provide a faithful written record of everything said by Members and other speakers during sittings of the Assemblée nationale du Québec (the Assembly) and the parliamentary committees.

To consult or obtain the publication:

Electronic Version of the Journal des débats de l’Assemblée:
  • Go to the Assembly Proceedings sub-section,
  • With the help of the drop-down menu, choose the date for the sitting you are looking for.
Electronic Version of the Journal des débats des commissions:
  • Go to the Committee Proceedings sub-section,
  • Go to the page for the committee in question, click the link "Journal des débats (Hansard)"
  • With the help of the drop-down menu, choose the date for the sitting you are looking for.

Only the final version of the Journal des débats is published in PDF form. That document is available online one week after the release of the final version in HTML form.

Print Version

The Journal des débats can be ordered for one or more sittings of the Assembly or of a committee. The editions of the Journal des débats can also be obtained by subscription, per parliamentary session, for all the sittings of the Assembly, all the committees or any one committee.

  • For all the sittings in a parliamentary session:
    • Journal des débats de l’Assemblée: $145
    • Journal des débats des commissions: $500
    • Journal des débats of one committee: $5 for the Committee on the National Assembly, between $25 and $100 for any other committee (the price depends on the average number of committee sittings per session)
  • For one sitting: the cost depends on the number of pages.

Delivery time by mail of orders sent to subscribers:

  • The Journal des débats de l’Assemblée: When the Assembly is sitting, subscribers receive the final version of the proceedings in 4 to 6 weeks.
  • The Journal des débats des commissions: Subscribers receive the final version of the committee proceedings on average 2 years after the date a committee was held.

    Audio/video excerpts of Assembly proceedings, committee proceedings and press activities are available on the Archives of Parliament Proceedings and Activities web page.

    Question Period is posted online no later than 30 minutes after it has ended.

    Audio/video excerpts of other activities (parliamentary committees, press activities, etc.) are posted no later than one hour after the event.
