Agreement between the Landtag of Bavaria and the National Assembly of Québec
Globalization as well as hemispheric and regional integration set major legislative and institutional challenges for parliamentary assemblies.
In this context, the regular exchange of information and experience is indispensable, in order to engage in cooperation turned toward the future in the framework of an integration process, namely the European Union in the case of the Landtag; and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and its possible broadening in the future, as well as the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), in the case of the National Assembly of Québec.
In order to intensify interparliamentary cooperation and dialogue,
the Landtag of Bavaria and the National Assembly of Québec agree:
- To hold more frequent meetings between the delegations of parliamentarians of the Landtag of Bavaria and the National Assembly of Québec, alternately in Bavaria and in Québec;
- To foster productive exchanges of information and experience between the Parliaments of Bavaria and Québec;
- To create a framework of cooperation for the implementation of joint activities and projects of interparliamentary cooperation.
